Mission Statement Santa Lucia ROP provides high school juniors and seniors, and adults, with occupational training that will prepare them for employment and/or advanced technical/professional training. The ROP students will develop skills and positive working attitudes that will contribute to the economic development of their community.
Program Goals - To provide all students the opportunity to learn academic skills through practical applications, and technical/professional skills that are marketable in order to become employed.
- To provide a sequence of technical/professional educational capstone courses that compliment and articulate with the high schools, community colleges and adult training programs.
- To allocate ROP resources to reflect the changing employment needs of the communities.
- To align the ROP courses with the quality standards of the California State Department of Education.
- To establish business/industry and education partnerships to provide job-training opportunities that are responsive to labor market needs.
- To provide ROP students with career guidance to assist them in achieving their goals.
- To provide information about the ROP program which demonstrates to students the benefits of vocational training or retraining.
- To maximize limited ROP funding by sharing the facilities, courses and faculty available at county high schools and community colleges.
