AutomotiveMission Statement

Santa Lucia ROP provides high school juniors and seniors, and adults, with occupational training that will prepare them for employment and/or advanced technical/professional training. The ROP students will develop skills and positive working attitudes that will contribute to the economic development of their community.

Program Goals

  1. To provide all students the opportunity to learn academic skills through practical applications, and technical/professional skills that are marketable in order to become employed.
  2. To provide a sequence of technical/professional educational capstone courses that compliment and articulate with the high schools, community colleges and adult training programs.
  3. To allocate ROP resources to reflect the changing employment needs of the communities.
  4. To align the ROP courses with the quality standards of the California State Department of Education.
  5. To establish business/industry and education partnerships to provide job-training opportunities that are responsive to labor market needs.
  6. To provide ROP students with career guidance to assist them in achieving their goals.
  7. To provide information about the ROP program which demonstrates to students the benefits of vocational training or retraining.
  8. To maximize limited ROP funding by sharing the facilities, courses and faculty available at county high schools and community colleges.
