2008-2009

Todd Olivera was awarded the Santa Lucia ROP Teacher of the Year award for 2009. The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District was very fortunate to have Todd Olivera join their faculty in 2002. With a B.S. in Sports Medicine, a M.A. in Special Education and a M.A. in Educational Leadership, Todd is a multi-faceted teacher who has done an outstanding job in his many demanding positions in which he has served our District during the past six years. Todd has very successfully balanced his multitude of responsibilities associated with his positions of Special Education Teacher, ROP Sports Medicine Teacher and ROP Health Occupations Teacher. In addition to his full-time teaching duties, Todd has very effectively served as our Paso Robles High School Athletic Trainer, a position that requires many additional hours of his time and expertise beyond the regular school day.

Todd has a true gift for working with young people as he has consistently demonstrated both with his Special Day Class science students and his ROP students. He has high expectations for his students and does an excellent job of instilling in them values on which he places importance such as responsibility, maturity, punctuality and self-worth.

Todd has worked in both educational and private industry which has enabled him to develop a wide variety of strategies that promote both educational standards and life skills. His personal experiences have allowed him to educate students in a manner that draws upon hands-on learning. Todd has proven himself to be an outstanding classroom manager, prioritizing a safe and positive environment which encourages the learning process for all students. Todd is highly respected by his students, encourages open communication and promotes team work.

As a result of Todd’s conscientious efforts, expertise, dedication and effectiveness as a teacher, he has been responsible for expanding our ROP course offerings at a time when our elective course program in general is experiencing a decrease in student enrollment. Paso Robles High School is fortunate to have Todd Olivera as an outstanding member of our faculty and someone who is so very deserving of being honored as ROP Teacher of the Year.
